Birth year calculates to 1776-1794 in 1820, 1781-1790 in 1830 and 1771-1780 in 1840. It is not an exact science, but I feel considering that these dates do not entirely overlap, 1780-81 is most likely when he was born. - Census Russia and Sparta NY 54,55
General Notes (Wife)
Note: A genealogy of the Agard Family was researched by Daniel A Roberts. As this is Peter's father's name, it seems reasonable that the author must be descended of Peter and Diadema.
Children found in Census 1820-50 are Orren, 3 more sons and 3 daughters. The only one documented with more than tick marks is Orren, found in 1850 Livonia with his family and Diadema in residence. Diadema is not found in 1860. - Census Russia, Sparta and Livonia NY
The ranges from the census agree with the children shown in the Roberts' genealogy, except for the addition of David, and not showing the f age 5-9 in 1840. Considering that Diadema would be age 44 at this child's birth, and that Diadema is living with Orren in 1850, it seems very likely that this child is Esther, Orren's daughter. Accounting for slight variance in age groupings shown on the 1820 census brings the two lists into agreement. However, Orren has his own listing in Livonia in 1840 and I do not see another likely candidate for live-in. It is possible, with 18 months allowed for enumerating this census that they moved and were counted twice.
The Roberts' Agard Genealogy shows Diadema's death as 21 Nov 1876, Montrose, Westchester, NY. I do find Orrin and Sarah in Montrose in 1870, living with daughter Esther and family. In 1860 the family is in Illinois, Esther married with one child. Her husband is not in residence. Diadema is shown age 73. I do not find evidence of Diadema living to 1876, when she would be 89. However, she may have been in a hospital at census time, so one cannot be certain without finding the death record. It appears the Roberts' Genealogy took the dates for this family directly from Diadema's son Luke's records; if so then it is highly likely she did die in Montrose 1876.
